I am writing to tell you of my experience with WELDIT
LEAK SEAL.
During a division 5 NHRA circuit drag race in my 1968
Camaro
Superstocker at Denver, some missing caused my chief
mechanic to check the valve adjustment, revealing the
presence of coolant on top of both cylinder heads.
Changing the oil and filter showed no coolant in the pan,
so the heads were dried off, and another pass made down
the track. Another inspection revealed the coolant
once more in evidence where it didn't belong. Upon
careful inspection, we found worn cylinder head bolt
threads in the block, allowing the leak.
Being 2000 miles from home, but not wanting to lose the
event credit we needed, we thought about what to
do. Two other well known stop leak preparations
were tried to stop the leak, including an expensive one
made especially for sealing head and block leaks, but
with no help.
We then tried Weldit, and it worked like a charm.
The next morning, a check run showed absolutely no liquid
present on the heads.
Instead of towing back to California with nothing to
show, we obtained enough points to gain entry into the
season's final race. We raced the last three races
without having to disassemble the engine between
events. Thank you for a great product!
Sincerely,
C.J. Patterson
